The Stan Winston School of Character Arts is deeply saddened to announce the passing of our friend, brilliant creature FX painter, horror artist, and beloved instructor, Tim Gore.

Tim’s decades-long career in Hollywood was marked by extraordinary artistry. His paintbrush brought life and terror to iconic projects such as *The Lost World: Jurassic Park*, *Blade II*, *Hellboy*, *Pacific Rim*, and *The Walking Dead*. His talent was a trusted resource for the industry’s top studios, including Stan Winston Studio, Spectral Motion, and KNB EFX, where his work became an integral part of cinematic history.

Yet, Tim’s legacy extends far beyond his film credits. He was a passionate educator who generously shared his knowledge with the Stan Winston School community. He collaborated widely and even developed the specialized Bloodline™ paint series with Createx Colors, empowering artists at every level to realize their darkest visions.

Perhaps most importantly, Tim Gore was renowned for his character. In the Los Angeles creature FX community, he was celebrated not only for his immense talent but for his kindness, openness, and humble spirit. He possessed a big heart that matched his big creativity.

We are forever grateful for the wisdom and warmth Tim shared with us. While his passing leaves a profound void, his spirit will endure—in every monstrous texture he painted, every artist he inspired, and in the enduring memories of his generosity. Tim Gore’s mark on the art of horror is indelible, and he will be deeply missed.
